Baby’s First Birthday Fruit and Flower Bath

Baby’s first birthday is always a bittersweet milestone for us parents, and I couldn’t believe how quickly Esha’s first birthday arrived! It seemed like I had just photographed Payal and Drew at their maternity session, and then again at Christmas, when Esha was itty bitty. Wow! Time sure does fly!

Payal wanted a fruit and flower bath themed photoshoot for Esha, and we loved how everything came out! We planned to shoot outdoors originally, but the weather would not cooperate. Between the rain and cold, we ended up having to reschedule once, and then ultimately decided to shoot inside, which ended up working out great!

Since Esha’s been shooting since before she was born (lol) she was a pro at changing outfits and props throughout the session. Payal and Drew were amazing at preparing for the shoot and we discussed beforehand how best to flow.

Thinking about a milk or fruit/flower bath for your little one?

  • Warm the water or milk a bit to make baby most comfortable

  • Bring bubbles to engage baby and add a little fun!

  • Confirm that baby is not allergic to any of the flowers or fruit you’re using in the bath and remove prickles/sharp stems from flowers

  • Pre-slice fruit and flowers in advance and bring some of baby’s favorites so he/she can enjoy a yummy snack during the shoot!

  • Bring a warm, comfy outfit to change baby into after the shoot

Have other ideas you want to bring to life? Let’s make it happen!
